How to Stay Calm and Centered During Uncertainty
This shift in mindset changed how I show up in chaotic times.
Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about how easy it is to get pulled into the noise. The world feels loud. Heavy. There’s always something trying to grab my attention, pull me into fear, make me react. And for a long time, I thought being helpful meant getting involved in all of it — fixing, convincing, explaining, trying to make things better.
But the more I learn, the more I realize: I don’t have to chase every boat that passes by. I just need to hold my light.
That’s where the real work happens — not out there, but in here.
Here’s how I keep coming back to my light (because it is a practice):
When everything feels chaotic, I pause.
I step back from the noise.
I take a breath.
I remind myself that I don’t have to get swept up in every headline or opinion.
Stillness is powerful. It helps me stay in my center — like the eye of the storm — where I can actually hear myself again.
I remind myself not to demonize.
Even when things feel unjust or painful, I try to see the person behind the headline.
Everyone’s carrying something.
Even people who seem completely lost or greedy still want peace — they just don’t know how to get there... well, peacefully.
If I can hold compassion, I’m doing my part.
I send love.
It sounds simple, but it’s real.
I send love to people who are hurting. To leaders who have hard choices to make. To the planet. To myself.
Every bit of love I put out matters. I believe that.
When people I care about are scared, I try to speak gently.
Not to argue or convince, but to remind them that there’s always more happening than what we see on the surface.
Yes, things are falling apart — but that’s often how something new begins.
Transformation can look like destruction at first.
I pay attention to the little moments.
How I talk to strangers.
How I speak to myself.
How I respond when I’m stressed.
Every small choice carries a frequency. And that frequency adds up.
And I hold the vision.
I picture a world where we’ve figured it out.
Where former enemies sit together.
Where my nephews grow up feeling safe.
Where communities rebuild with love, purchase ethically, communicate kindly, respect boundaries, honor ecosystems.
The more I hold that vision, the more possible it feels.
Honestly, I think… no, I know we’re standing at a huge turning point.
The more of us who choose love — who keep holding steady like lighthouses — the faster this shift happens.
So I keep trusting myself.
Trusting my heart.
And trusting that by simply being here — awake, aware and aligned —
I’m already part of the solution.
